Summer June 1790Neath CanalAssisted his father and brother (both called Thomas) in making a survey of the line of the proposed canal.
1792Glamorganshire CanalAs ther was no carriage road up the Aberdare Valley he surveyed a route for one at the same time as he surveyed the canal and tramroad link to the Neath Canal.
1792Neath CanalDid a survey for a proposed canal and tramroad link to the Glamorganshire Canal.
1793Aberdare CanalHe subscribed to 2,000 of shares jointly with the other three Dadfords, all working on Welsh canals.
