Sunday 1th July 2001

From to Napton Junction arriving at 11:45 am. The time taken was 2 hours 40 minutes. 3.75 miles and 11 locks, averaging 5.53 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 342 hours 20 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 571 locks, averaging 1.96 lock/miles per hour.

Moved across the canal to fill with water opposite the Blue Lias (20 minutes). Came up the first two Stockton locks by ourselves but then waited for Willowweed to join us. Came through the Calcutt locks with a Napton boat. Stopped before the junction to change the front alternator belt and to have lunch.

From Napton Junction to Priors Hardwick Bridge No 123 arriving at 5:50 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 55 minutes. 5.25 miles and 9 locks, averaging 2.9 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 347 hours 15 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 580 locks, averaging 1.96 lock/miles per hour.

Came up the Napton flight behind a couple of beginners who lost their windlass and their hammer and mooring hook on the way up the flight. A lot of boats going up and down. Spoke to Ken and Margaret Froud at the engine arm. Moored just after bridge 126. A warm and mostly sunny day.

Monday 2th July 2001

From Priors Hardwick Bridge No 123 to Cropredy Lock No 25 arriving at 2:40 pm. The time taken was 5 hours 40 minutes. 12.5 miles and 8 locks, averaging 3.62 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 352 hours 55 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 588 locks, averaging 1.95 lock/miles per hour.

Saw an owl and a mink shortly after setting off. There was a queue of boats at Claydon top lock and we had to wait about half an hour before getting into the lock. Had lunch while waiting. Moored just before the lock at Cropredy and walked round the village and went into the church. went to the Red Lion for dinner. A hot day with a lot of sun.

Tuesday 3th July 2001

From Cropredy Lock No 25 to Banbury Lock No 29 arriving at 1:15 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 20 minutes. 4.5 miles and 5 locks, averaging 2.85 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 356 hours 15 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 593 locks, averaging 1.95 lock/miles per hour.

Filled with water at Cropredy (30 minutes plus 15 miutes wait). A lot of queuing for locks again today. No moorings above the lock at Banbury so we went through and moored below. Went to the Exchange for lunch and did some shopping in town.

From Banbury Lock No 29 to Aynho Bridge No 190 arriving at 6:40 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 25 minutes. 6.87 miles and 4 locks, averaging 3.18 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 359 hours 40 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 597 locks, averaging 1.94 lock/miles per hour.

More lock queues. Moored at Aynho Wharf and spoke to Ian about repainting the boat. Went to the Great Western for dinner. Another hot and sunny day.

Wednesday 4th July 2001

From Aynho Bridge No 190 to Heyford Wharf Bridge No 206 arriving at 1:00 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 25 minutes. 6 miles and 3 locks, averaging 2.63 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 363 hours 5 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 600 locks, averaging 1.93 lock/miles per hour.

Before setting off I saw Ian Cooper about painting the boat. Quite a lot of boats on the move and a few waits at the locks. Had lunch at the Bell. Rosemary and Ben left on the 16.40 from Heyford. Another hot day.

Thursday 5th July 2001

From Heyford Wharf Bridge No 206 to Thrupp Bend arriving at 1:50 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 45 minutes. 7.75 miles and 5 locks, averaging 2.68 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 367 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 605 locks, averaging 1.92 lock/miles per hour.

A few more waits at locks today. Moored on the visitor moorings near the Boat for lunch.

From Thrupp Bend to River Thames Junction arriving at 4:40 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 0 minutes. 4.25 miles and 3 locks, averaging 3.63 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 369 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 608 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

On the way down we stopped in midstream to buy from diesel from Bletchley (153 litres at 28p per litre). The butty Argo was being towed. They were both going in the opposite direction to us, having come from the Kennet & Avon, and I was alerted to them by a woman crew member cycling on the towpath who asked me if I wanted some diesel. Went through the lock on to Dukes Cut and carried straight on to Eynsham .

From River Thames Junction to Eynsham Lock arriving at 6:00 pm. The time taken was 1 hour 0 minutes. 2.5 miles and 0 locks, averaging 2.5 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 370 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 608 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

Stopped before the lock for a pumpout (5) then moved back on to the moorings below the lock and moored next to Hornet's Nest. A hot day.

Friday 6th July 2001

From Eynsham Lock to Osney Bridge arriving at 11:25 am. The time taken was 2 hours 10 minutes. 6 miles and 4 locks, averaging 4.62 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 373 hours 0 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 612 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

Went up through Eynsham Lock to fill with water (15 minutes) then turned and came back through the lock. Came through King's and Godstow locks with the narrowboat Jessop. Saw two pairs of Great Crested Grebes with young, the first we have seen this year. Moored just past the bridge and went into Oxford. Had lunch at Bella Pasta, (Pizza Margherita 5.30, Quattro Stagioni 7.50) not one their finest branches, then did the shopping at Sainsbury's.

From Osney Bridge to Sandford Lock arriving at 5:15 pm. The time taken was 1 hour 25 minutes. 4.25 miles and 2 locks, averaging 4.41 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 374 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 614 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

Came down and moored just before the lock. A mostly cloudy day.

From Sandford Lock to River Thame Junction arriving at 12:50 am. The time taken was 3 hours 55 minutes. 13.75 miles and 5 locks, averaging 4.79 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 378 hours 20 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 619 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Saw Peter Biggs on Pe-Jay at Abingdon and went through the locks with him. Saw a Goosander at Burcot. Moored just before the Thame junction. A mostly overcast morning but warm and dry, some showers in the afternoon.

Sunday 8th July 2001

From River Thame Junction to Goring Lock arriving at 12:45 am. The time taken was 2 hours 35 minutes. 10.25 miles and 3 locks, averaging 5.13 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 380 hours 55 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 622 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Passed Pe-Jay moored at Wallingford. Stopped for water above Cleeve Lock (15 minutes). Moored below the lock at Goring and had lunch at the Miller of Mansfield (Roast Lamb and Roast Vegetable Torte 6.45 each, Banoffee Pie 3.25 each).

From Goring Lock to High Bridge, Reading arriving at 5:40 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 15 minutes. 12 miles and 4 locks, averaging 4.92 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 384 hours 10 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 626 locks, averaging 1.89 lock/miles per hour.

Shared the locks this afternoon with several other boats. Passed Wors moored at Pangbourne. More Great Creasted Grebes, some with young, again today. Turned on to the Kennet and moored by the prison. A mostly cloudy day but brighter with some sun this afternoon.

Monday 9th July 2001

From High Bridge, Reading to Burghfield Village Road Bridge arriving at 3:30 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 15 minutes. 3.5 miles and 3 locks, averaging 2.89 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 386 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 629 locks, averaging 1.89 lock/miles per hour.

Collected the post, looked round the new Reading shopping centre then did some shopping at Sainsburys. Set off after lunch and shared the first two locks with Rosina Emma. Moored outside the Cunning Man. A mostly dull day with a few spots of rain.

Tuesday 10th July 2001

From Burghfield Village Road Bridge to Tyle Mill Lock No 99 arriving at 12:35 am. The time taken was 3 hours 0 minutes. 4.5 miles and 5 locks, averaging 3.17 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 389 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 634 locks, averaging 1.88 lock/miles per hour.

Went through the first two locks with Rosina Emma (a new set of people who had just started off). Stopped for water (30 minutes) just before Tyle Mill Lock then moored for lunch a little way on.

From Tyle Mill Lock No 99 to Woolhampton Mill Lock No 94 arriving at 4:35 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 10 minutes. 4 miles and 3 locks, averaging 2.21 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 392 hours 35 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 637 locks, averaging 1.88 lock/miles per hour.

Were delayed at Ufton Swing Bridge as it was very difficult to open and need two of us to push. Passed quite a few boats on the move today. Moored just before Woolhampton Swing Bridge. Went to the Rowbarge Inn for dinner (Vegetable Stroganoff 8.75, Trout 9.95, desserts 3.50 each). A mostly cloudy day with sunny spells and showers.

Wednesday 11th July 2001

From Woolhampton Mill Lock No 94 to Widmead Lock No 89 arriving at 12:45 am. The time taken was 3 hours 25 minutes. 4 miles and 5 locks, averaging 2.63 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 396 hours 0 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 642 locks, averaging 1.87 lock/miles per hour.

Followed Rosina Emma and a Berrybrooke boat called Jupiter through severa locks, until they stopped just before Monkey Marsh Lock. We went on to moor for lunch just before Widemead Lock.

From Widmead Lock No 89 to Greenham Lock No 86 arriving at 3:35 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 0 minutes. 2 miles and 4 locks, averaging 3 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 398 hours 0 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 646 locks, averaging 1.87 lock/miles per hour.

Came up all the locks today by ourselves. Moored just past Greenham Bridge and went shopping at Sainsbury's. A windy day of sunshine and cloud with two very brief showers.

Thursday 12th July 2001

From Greenham Lock No 86 to Benham Lock No 82 arriving at 1:35 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 25 minutes. 2.62 miles and 4 locks, averaging 2.74 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 400 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 650 locks, averaging 1.87 lock/miles per hour.

Did the 6276 hours service then moved across to the boatyard at Newbury and got water (1) a pumpout (11) and 4 litres of Elsan Blue (9.99). They were working on the new bridge at Newbury, replacing the very low one that was there. Went through Newbury Lock and the swing bridge with Tastoma from Blisworth. Had to stop for 55 minutes before Guyer's Lock because of a broken bracket on the Seapower charger. moored just past the weir, half way between Benham and Hamstead Lock. A day of sunshine and cloud with a couple of very brief showers.

Friday 13th July 2001

From Benham Lock No 82 to Hungerford Lock No 74 arriving at 12:40 am. The time taken was 3 hours 45 minutes. 6.87 miles and 8 locks, averaging 3.97 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 404 hours 10 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 658 locks, averaging 1.88 lock/miles per hour.

Many of the lock landings have been improved since we last came this way two years ago. Moored for lunch just past Hungerford Church swing bridge.

From Hungerford Lock No 74 to Burnt Mill Lock No 65 arriving at 5:20 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 40 minutes. 4.62 miles and 9 locks, averaging 3.71 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 407 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 667 locks, averaging 1.88 lock/miles per hour.

The Hungerford Marsh Swing Bridge, which crosses over the lock, was being rebuilt as we went through. Saw a kingfisher above Picketfield Lock and a couple of Terns near Great Bedwyn. Moored at Great Bedwyn before Wharf Bridge. A day of sunshine, cloud and showers.

Saturday 14th July 2001

From Burnt Mill Lock No 65 to Burbage Wharf Bridge arriving at 12:50 am. The time taken was 3 hours 5 minutes. 4.87 miles and 10 locks, averaging 4.82 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 410 hours 55 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 677 locks, averaging 1.89 lock/miles per hour.

The hotel boat Tiny Purple went through Bedwyn Church Lock in front of us and shared all of the other locks with us up to the summit. We both stopped for water at lock 60 (about 30 minutes). Saw a kingfisher just after Bruce Tunnel. Moored for lunch after Burbage Wharf Bridge.

From Burbage Wharf Bridge to Pewsey Wharf arriving at 3:45 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 0 minutes. 4.37 miles and 4 locks, averaging 4.19 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 412 hours 55 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 681 locks, averaging 1.89 lock/miles per hour.

Saw another kingfisher just before Wootton Rivers locks. Went down the locks by ourselves but met a couple of boats coming up. Moored on the 48 hour moorings just before the wharf. A day of sunshine and cloud.

Sunday 15th July 2001

From Pewsey Wharf to Devizes Top Lock No 50 arriving at 1:00 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 35 minutes. 12 miles and 0 locks, averaging 2.62 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 417 hours 30 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 681 locks, averaging 1.87 lock/miles per hour.

Came down from Pewsey passing Tiny Purple on the way. Stopped at Devizes Marina (10 minutes) to see if we could get an electric supply hookup to run the washing machine but all their mooring spots were full. Moored by the entertainments centre at the wharf and went to the Bear Hotel for lunch (2 courses 10.50 each) then did some shopping at Tesco's. A mostly sunny day.

Monday 16th July 2001

From Devizes Top Lock No 50 to Sells Green Bridge arriving at 5:40 pm. The time taken was 5 hours 0 minutes. 3 miles and 30 locks, averaging 6.6 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 422 hours 30 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 711 locks, averaging 1.92 lock/miles per hour.

Tim Stevens came this morning and welded the bracket back for our 240 volt alternator (35). We filled with water and had an early lunch before setting off down the locks with Offerocker, a 55 foot narrowboat on the way to Hilperton. We had a half hour break for drinks after lock 29 then went on to the bottom together. We stopped on the new moorings after the bridge. A warm and mostly sunny day.

Tuesday 17th July 2001

From Sells Green Bridge to Semington Bottom Lock No 15 arriving at 12:10 am. The time taken was 2 hours 50 minutes. 4 miles and 6 locks, averaging 3.53 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 425 hours 20 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 717 locks, averaging 1.92 lock/miles per hour.

A lot of boats were coming up the Seend Locks as we went down. Moored for lunch on the visitor moorings at Semington Bridge but still a big stride needed to get ashore.

From Semington Bottom Lock No 15 to Bradford-on-Avon Lock No 14 arriving at 3:10 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 5 minutes. 5 miles and 0 locks, averaging 2.4 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 427 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 717 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

A wet and slow run down to the moorings just above the lock (new edging and rings since our last visit). A lot of moored boats at various places along the route. Passed, and were passed by, Kalessin a couple of times today as we have many times before on this trip down the K&A. A cloudy morning and a wet afternoon.

Wednesday 18th July 2001

From Bradford-on-Avon Lock No 14 to Sydney Wharf Bridge arriving at 12:25 am. The time taken was 3 hours 40 minutes. 9 miles and 1 locks, averaging 2.73 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 431 hours 5 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 718 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Filled with water (30 minutes) before going through Bradford on Avon Lock. A lot of boats moored all the way down past Avoncliff Aqueduct and more from Dundas Aqueduct to Bath. Saw a water vole, the first I had seen for well over a year. Saw a kingfisher on the front mooring rope of a boat, as we passed it dived down and came back onto the rope with a fish. Stopped at the top of the Bath Locks for Lunch.

From Sydney Wharf Bridge to Bath Old Bridge arriving at 3:15 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 5 minutes. 1 miles and 6 locks, averaging 3.36 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 433 hours 10 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 724 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Started off down the locks behind two other boats and met another coming up. BW were also bringing some wide mud hoppers up the locks and we passed two of them. It started to rain as we got to the bottom lock and was pouring down when we moored past the station. Otherwise a mostly sunny day.

Friday 20th July 2001

From Bath Old Bridge to Bath Old Bridge arriving at 12:05 am. The time taken was 2 hours 5 minutes. 5 miles and 2 locks, averaging 3.36 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 435 hours 15 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 726 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Went down to Bath Marina to get a pumpout but they don't do them any more so we came back up to moor below Pulteney Weir (4.40 for 24 hours). Filled with water, 10 deposit for keys to tap. A sunny morning and a cloudy afternoon.

From Bath Old Bridge to Cumberland Basin Entrance Lock No 2 arriving at 3:50 pm. The time taken was 5 hours 55 minutes. 17.5 miles and 7 locks, averaging 4.14 lock/miles per hour. Started off from Bath at 9.15 and came down the river.Saw three kingfishers on the way; before Weston Lock, below Swineford Lock and before Netham. A lot of boats on the move today. We had lunch on the move after Halham Lock. Moored at Anglo Welsh by Cumberland Basin Lock but could not get a pumpout today. Came back up to Cannons Marsh to moor, which took 20 minutes. A mostly sunny day.

Monday 23rd July 2001

Went down to the Anglo Welsh yard for pumpout (10) and diesel (89 litres at 30p a litre for 26.70) then came back to our mooring by the Lloyds TSB Amphitheatre and filled with water. Went round the SS Great Britain and then called at the Harbour Masters office for our visitor permit (23.63 for 48 hours). Got a ferry back to the City Centre and went to Vincenzo's (just off Park Street) for lunch.

The lock keeper at Netham opened the gate for us. It had been closed because a spring tide was due. Shared some locks with a Sally Boat. Saw a kingfisher before Swineford Lock. Had lunch on the move and moored on as near to Sainsbury's as possible. A sunny start but increasing cloud as the day progressed.

Wednesday 25th July 2001

Went shopping at Sainsbury's before lunch. Came up the Bath Locks by ourselves but made good time (about 1 hour 40 minutes). Stopped for water at Dundas (15 minute wait for the tap then 20 minutes to fill. Mored on the 24 hour mooring opposite and walked down to the Somerset Coal Canal basin. A hot sunny day.

Thursday 26th July 2001

From Dundas Aqueduct to Hilperton Bridge (B3105) arriving at 12:45 am. The time taken was 3 hours 40 minutes. 7 miles and 1 locks, averaging 2.18 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 454 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 747 locks, averaging 1.86 lock/miles per hour.

Had to wait for an Anglo Welsh wide boat to go through Bradford on Avon Lock before us and for Pussers Rum to come down. Went through the lock with a Canaltime boat. Moored just past Whaddon Grove Bridge, No 162. A hot day with a lot of sun.

From Hilperton Bridge (B3105) to Sells Green Bridge arriving at 12:25 am. The time taken was 3 hours 30 minutes. 6.5 miles and 7 locks, averaging 3.86 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 457 hours 55 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 754 locks, averaging 1.86 lock/miles per hour.

Came up through all the locks by ourselves although there were quite a few boats on the move. The Seend lock pound by the Barge Inn was very low. Stopped on the new moorings at Sells Green and filled with water before we had lunch.

From Sells Green Bridge to Devizes Bottom Lock No 22 arriving at 3:25 pm. The time taken was 1 hour 55 minutes. 2 miles and 7 locks, averaging 4.7 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 459 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 761 locks, averaging 1.87 lock/miles per hour.

Came up through the first seven locks and moored below Lock 29. Walked up to town to collect the post and to do some shopping. A very hot day.

Saturday 28th July 2001

From Devizes Bottom Lock No 22 to Devizes Top Lock No 50 arriving at 11:30 am. The time taken was 3 hours 20 minutes. 1.5 miles and 23 locks, averaging 7.35 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 463 hours 10 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 784 locks, averaging 1.91 lock/miles per hour.

Breasted up with Alexis, a 50 foot narrowboat, to go up the locks. Set off at 7.55 and stopped in Lock 45 for 15 minutes to have drinks. Moored opposite the wharf and went to the Bear for lunch (Vegetable Pasta Bake and Pork Chop 9 for the two).

Stopped for 25 minutes at Honey Street for a pumpout (10) and spoke to Chris Gibson about Bantam Tugs. Filled with water at Pewsey Wharf (30 minutes) then moved down to the 48 hour moorings. Went to the French Horn for lunch (Lamb Steak 9.50, Goats Cheese salad 8.50) very good.

From Pewsey Wharf to Savernake Tunnel (East End) arriving at 5:05 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 40 minutes. 5.37 miles and 4 locks, averaging 3.51 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 470 hours 5 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 788 locks, averaging 1.89 lock/miles per hour.

Saw a kingfisher just before Wootton Rivers. Came through the first two locks by ourselves and shared the second two with Popham Rose. Moored just after Bruce Tunnel.

Monday 30th July 2001

From Savernake Tunnel (East End) to Burnt Mill Lock No 65 arriving at 12:45 am. The time taken was 3 hours 40 minutes. 3.87 miles and 10 locks, averaging 3.78 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 473 hours 45 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 798 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Monday 30th July 2001

From Burnt Mill Lock No 65 to Hungerford Lock No 74 arriving at 6:25 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 20 minutes. 4.62 miles and 10 locks, averaging 3.37 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 478 hours 5 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 808 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Saw a kingfisher just before Little Bedwyn Lock. Met a lot of boats coming up the locks as we came down, including many Reading Marine hire boats. Hungerford very busy with moored boats so we came on and stopped opposite the facilities again.

Tuesday 31st July 2001

From Hungerford Lock No 74 to Kintbury Lock No 78 arriving at 12:15 am. The time taken was 2 hours 20 minutes. 3 miles and 3 locks, averaging 2.57 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 480 hours 25 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 811 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

Took some pictures and tightened the engine bolts before moving across for water (30 minutes). At Dunmill Lock we met up with Baltic and went through the three locks to Kintbury with them. Moored just before the bend at Vicerage Bridge and walked up through the churchyard and down through the village to the Dundas Arms for lunch (Crostini, tomato & Goats Cheese 5.45, Green Thia Chicken Curry 8.50) which was very good.

From Kintbury Lock No 78 to Hamstead Lock No 81 arriving at 4:30 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 25 minutes. 2.5 miles and 4 locks, averaging 2.69 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 482 hours 50 minutes. total cruising time, 100 miles and 815 locks, averaging 1.9 lock/miles per hour.

When we got to Dreweat's Lock the horse drawn trip boat was going down to turn below the lock. Met Gloucester Gem No 2 coming up through Copse Lock. Moored below Hamstead Lock. A warm mostly sunny day but some cloud.
