I welcome feedback from users of my site so you can contact me by email but please first read the appropriate paragraph below, which may contain useful information.
I operate as a freelance photographer and writer. Please see my Freelance page if you would like to know more about what I can provide.
My Policy is to link to all the UK inland waterways sites that I know exist. To qualify a site must have content that is of interest to those using or seeking information about UK canals and navigable rivers. This excludes sites that are predominately dealing with maritime or coastal navigation.
I try to keep a comprehensive list of waterways related web sites that have come to my notice, and endeavour to put them under appropriate categories to help you find them. If you know of web site you think should be included (and you have checked my Links Page to ensure it is not already listed) please let me know by email. I will update my list of sites but it sometimes takes a few weeks as I am out boating in the summer.
On my pages that show waterways within counties I include some links to non-waterway websites. The idea of this is to provide visitors to the area some information relating to the places of interest and services within the area. I will not be providing links to individual businesses unless they provide a very substantial amount of information of interest to visitors.
The information on my Boat Listing comes from the records of the Environment Agency and British Waterways and so reflects the “officially” recorded boat details. Some of these records are inaccurate or incomplete but any amendments to these records must be addressed to the appropriate navigation authority.
Please also note that my Boat Listing is only updated once a year so changes made during the year will not be shown until the next update.
If you find any errors in these pages, or you think I have left something out, please let me know. I am always trying to improve these pages and I have been greatly assisted by users comments. Also if you have new information or ideas for inclusion in the site please let me know. In all these cases (or any other where a reply is required) please email me. I also get asked questions about waterways and boating from time to time. I am happy to answer these if I can. If I can’t I will say so. In some cases I may know of other web sites or organsations that may be able to help. In the past I have been asked to provide packages of information as source material for essays, and even dissertations, needless to say such requests do not meet with a positive response.
If you would like to know a bit more about me you can read my Personal and Professional details which explain something of my background.
