Swansea Canal

Description of Swansea Canal: A 15 mile 1 furlong, 36 lock, canal from Henneuadd to Swansea, divided into two parts by the Trewyddfa Canal which formed part of the through route.

History of Swansea Canal: Authorised by an Act of 1794, part open in 1796 and completed in 1798. Abandoned by a series of Acts from 1928 to 1962
