Description of Leicestershire & Northampton Union Canal: Original title of the canal from Leicester to Market Harborough, now part of the G.U. Leicestershire Section.
History of Leicestershire & Northampton Union Canal: Authorised by an Act of 1793, in 1797 was completed to Debdale wharf about 6 miles from Market Harborough, a new Act was obtained in 1805 and the canal reached Market Harborough in 1809. Purchased in 1894 by the Grand Junction.
