Television and Press look on as the new supporting steelwork is manouvered into place. At this point only one side of the bridge has been lifted.

Royal Engineers make the final adjstments to the steel supports now that both sides of the bridge have been raised.

With the steel work complete Royal Engineers start work on building the wooden ramps that will give access to the bridge.
