Went into town for some shopping and found plenty of space when we came back. A sunny day, warm in the afternoon.

We spent yesterday getting a new stern tube and prop shaft fitted (£354.28) and in the evening had dinner with Fred and Joyce at the Admiral Nelson. This morning we called into the Marina for pumpout (£7.50) and diesel (£38.25 for 98 litres at 39p a litre) then we filled with water by the Stop House. It seems there has been a breach in canal at Thrupp so instead of going down the Oxford Canal to the Thames, as we had planned, we headed towards the Ashby Canal.

After lunch we went down to Brownsover Bridge to moor for Tesco's. We then discovered a problem with the bilge pump. After shopping I tried to sort out why the bige pump was not working but without success. We came on to moor at Newbold and went to the Barley Mow for dinner. A warm sunny day.

Came through the locks with Tim and Pam on Escape. Had a short wait at Denford Lock as contractors were replacing timbers at the lock entrance. Moored at the Middle Nene Sailing Club for lunch.

Moored with Escape in the backwater above the lock. A mostly dry but cloudy day.

Came through all the locks with Escape. Saw a kingfisher below Ashton Lock and another before Warmington Lock. Moored below Wansford Bridge and Pam and Tim invited us to lunch with them at the Papermill. After lunch checked and tightened the bolts on the 240 volt altenator and found that the pully wheel was loose.
From Wansford Bridge to Orton Lock No 37 arriving at 6:05 pm. The time taken was 2 hours 50 minutes. 9.00 miles and 3 locks, averaging 4.24 lock/miles per hour. Went through the last locks with Escape and waved goodbye to the as we turned off to go to the Boathouse. Had dinner at the Boathouse (Chicken Fajitas £9.95 plus sweets). A wet morning but a dry afternoon.
