From Braunston Bottom Lock No 1 to Buckby Top Lock No 7 arriving at 11:55 am. The time taken was 2 hours 35 minutes. 4.00 miles and 7 locks, averaging 4.26 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 684 hours 25 minutes total cruising time, 1,611.38 miles and 819 locks, averaging 3.55 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
We were put back in the water this morning after spending two days on the slipway at Braunston Boats having the hull blacked. Shared the Braunston Locks with a single handed boater. Moored below the top lock and went to the New Inn for lunch.
From Buckby Top Lock No 7 to Milton Road Bridge No 2, Gayton arriving at 6:00 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 45 minutes. 12.25 miles and 6 locks, averaging 3.84 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 689 hours 10 minutes total cruising time, 1,623.63 miles and 825 locks, averaging 3.55 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Came down the Buckby locks by ourselves but made good time. Saw a kingfisher just before Stowe Hill Bridge and another after Bugbrooke. Stopped 25 minutes for water at Gayton then moored just past the bridge. A mostly sunny day.

From Milton Road Bridge No 2, Gayton to South Bridge, Northampton arriving at 1:10 pm. The time taken was 4 hours 5 minutes. 4.75 miles and 17 locks, averaging 5.33 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 693 hours 15 minutes total cruising time, 1,628.38 miles and 842 locks, averaging 3.56 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Saw a kingfisher on the mooring rope of the boat opposite this morning. Set off down the 13 locks of the flight in the dry but it rained for the last few miles to Northampton. Saw two more kingfishers on the way down the canal. Moored after the bridge and went to Morrisons for lunch and shopping.
From South Bridge, Northampton to Cogenhoe Lock No 7 arriving at 6:05 pm. The time taken was 3 hours. 6.13 miles and 6 locks, averaging 4.04 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 696 hours 15 minutes total cruising time, 1,634.50 miles and 848 locks, averaging 3.57 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
A fine and mostly sunny afternoon for our trip on the Nene. There are new mooring pontoons before Weston Favel and new lock landings at the lock. Saw 3 kingfishers on the Nene. Moored just before Cogenhoe Lock.
From Cogenhoe Lock No 7 to Irthlingborough Bridge arriving at 3:05 pm. The time taken was 5 hours 35 minutes. 11.88 miles and 10 locks, averaging 3.92 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 701 hours 50 minutes total cruising time, 1,646.38 miles and 858 locks, averaging 3.57 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Met two narrowboats coming out of the lock as we arrived at Whiston. Saw 3 kingfishers at Barton, Woodstock and by the main road at Higham. Had lunch on the move between Upper and Lower Wellingborough Locks. Moored at the Diamond Centre and had a pumpout and filled with water. Had dinner at the Seasons Bistro. A warm day of sunshine and some cloud.
From Irthlingborough Bridge to Ashton Lock No 28 arriving at 5:20 pm. The time taken was 7 hours 35 minutes. 18.88 miles and 11 locks, averaging 3.94 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 709 hours 25 minutes total cruising time, 1,665.25 miles and 869 locks, averaging 3.57 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Saw four kingfishers today. Had lunch on the move. Moored on the weir channel beside the lock. A mostly cloudy day with a chill wind.
From Ashton Lock No 28 to Orton Lock No 37 arriving at 5:25 pm. The time taken was 7 hours 30 minutes. 21.63 miles and 10 locks, averaging 4.22 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 716 hours 55 minutes total cruising time, 1,686.88 miles and 879 locks, averaging 3.58 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Shared Perio Lock with a cruiser. The footbridge across the weir at Elton has now been replaced. Stopped for 15 minutes below the lock to sort out a problem with the bilge pump. Had lunch on the move before Yarwell Lock. Met a boat coming out of Water Newton Lock and shared Alwarton Lock with The Idle Hour - a narrowboat from Peterborough Yacht Club. Saw eight kingfishers today and a green woodpecker. Moored at the Boathouse pub and had dinner there. A mostly sunny day with a cold breeze.

Stopped for 50 minutes on the embankment for pumpout and shopping. A light shower before we gothome but the rest of the day was dry.
