Saw a very bold kingfisher just before the Rugby Arm. Moored just past bridge 58 and went to Tesco's for some shopping. Had lunch on the boat.

Stopped to dump the rubish at Northamton, much to the anoyance of the angler on the mooring pontoon. Saw 2 Black Swans just after Billing. Moored just above the lock. A cloudy day with some showers at lunch time.

A lot of boats on the move between Titchmarsh and here. The reach below Titchmarsh was down over a foot and a paddle was left up at Wadenhoe Lock. Stopped for lunch on the moorings next to the lock.

Met an Environment Agency weed cutter boat coming up through Water Newton lock and another narrowboat at Alwalton so there were two locks we didn't have to fill. Moored at the Boathouse. A mostly sunny day but a little cooler than of late.

Came down from the Boathouse and stopped on the facilities on the embankment for 50 minutes. Beryl went shopping at Asda while I did the pumpout and rubbish, then back to our home mooring in the sunshine.
