From Peterborough Junction to Warmington Lock No 31 arriving at 4:15 pm. The time taken was 7 hours 15 minutes. 17.75 miles and 6 locks, averaging 3.28 lock/miles per hour. Set off at 8.55 and stopped for 5 minutes to dump our rubbish at the embankment facilities. Saw a pair of Kingfishers before we got to Orton Lock and saw 4 more single Kingfishers during the rest of the day. Had lunch on the move between Water Newton and Wansford Locks. Met the Key Ferry coming under Wansford Bridge. Moored at Fotheringhay. The day started mild and dry but this was followed by light rain in the middle of the day and sunshine in the late afternoon and evening.
From Warmington Lock No 31 to Islip Lock No 22 arriving at 4:40 pm. The time taken was 6 hours 35 minutes. 17.00 miles and 9 locks, averaging 3.95 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 13 hours 50 minutes total cruising time, 34.75 miles and 15 locks, averaging 3.60 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
Met about 7 or 8 boats on the move today, most of them narrowboats. Had lunch on the move between Upper Barnwell and Lilford Locks. At Lilford we saw highland cattle and a fine display of daffidils in the park and around the lock. Stopped for the night on the Thrapston Sailing Club moorings. A cloudy bright day but some rain this afternoon.
From Islip Lock No 22 to Wellingborough Bridge arriving at 3:20 pm. The time taken was 6 hours 10 minutes. 13.50 miles and 9 locks, averaging 3.65 lock/miles per hour. Totals for this voyage are 20 hours total cruising time, 48.25 miles and 24 locks, averaging 3.61 lock/miles per hour over the whole voyage.
| Had lunch on the move between Higham and Ditchford Locks. Moored at the park for water and shopping at Tesco's. The nb Merlin, about 70 foot long, came past after we got back from Tesco's. A cloudy but dry day. | ![]() |

Met another narrowboat, "Enigma" from Caldcot, coming down through Whiston Lock as we went up. They were moving their base to the Great Ouse. Stopped for lunch above the lock.
From Cogenhoe Lock No 7 to South Bridge, Northampton arriving at 5:05 pm. The time taken was 3 hours 20 minutes. 6.13 miles and 7 locks, averaging 3.94 lock/miles per hour. Saw a Dabchick above Rush Mills Lock. Moored above the lock. A warm sunny day.
