Followed a SIBC cruiser through the Barnby Dun Lift bridge and had a pumpout at Long Sandall Lock. Bought a card for £6 but found we could use the pumpout without it. Moored above the bridge. A cool cloudy day.

As we were coming into the lock Forever Cut and Fragil were coming out. We moored above the lock and had a roast pork lunch that Beryl had cooked on the way. A cloudy day with some light rain in the afternoon.

Had a good journey up the locks helped by a very good BW man who prepared all the Tindsley Flight locks for us. Moored in the basin and had lunch at the Crucible Theatre (Lamb chops, lemon brule and a bottle of wine £33.75). Did some shopping at Somerfield and bought a new haversack at Millets. Set off after filling with water. Met the narrowboat Craycombe Companion, from Fladbury, at Westwick Lock and went up through the locks with them. A slow progress due to a cruiser in front and some slow filling locks. Turned and moored in the basin. Had lunch at the Water Rat (Caijan Chicken £4.65, Pasta Bake £3.95) nice pub but food below par. Did a bit of shopping in town. A dull cloudy day.
