Moored at Ely to try to get a part for the water pump, but they don't stock Flojet pumps at Ely Boat Chandlers. After lunch we went into town and then to the station to see Angela off back to Huddersfield. Tesco's is right next to the station so we got our shopping there. A rainy day.

After filling up with water at Ely we cruised up tthe Ouse and on to the Cam. Stopped for lunch just above the bridge.

After Mum and Dad went home we went shoppig in Bedford then had lunch. After lunch we went up river until we went aground just before Kempston Mill bridge. We had great difficulty turning and ran aground going back to Bedford. Moored at the 48 hour moorings at the old lock site. A fine sunny day quite warm for the time of year.

Found we could not get into Great Barford from the old lock moorings as the footbridge was being repaired. We set off downstream hoping to stop at Great Barford but all the mooring spaces were occupied. Stopped for water at River Mill (£1) then went on to St Neots for lunch, . Had a good, cheap, homemade steak and kidney pie for lunch at a pup in the High Street. Stopped on board all afternoon and moored here for the night

Left at 10.30 as the thick morning mist was beginig to clear. Moored by the old bridge for a late lunch.

Went shoping in St Ives then I took some pictures. Stopped at the Pike & Eel Inn at Overcote Ferry, about a mile and a half past Holywell. We had lunch on the boat and I got two pints (one bitter, one lager) from the pub.

A very misty (foggy) morning. Tried to fill up with water at Upware Marina but they said they had a problem with their water main and sent us on a wild goose chase round to the lock - no water that we could see. Moored for lunch at the Washes, about a mile on from the junction.

Stopped for water at the Two Tees Boatyard but Champers went for a walk and did not come back until 19.20 so we ended up staying the night. A cloudy but bright afternoon after the mornings fog.

Came back up to Ely for water and deisel but were tod we could not get a pumpout until all the hire boats had gone - probably about four o'clock. We finally got our pump out at 17.30 and then went on to Tesco's for our shopping. We then went into the centre and had a good dinner at the Stage Coach Restaurant. A hazy start to the day but sunny later.

A trip slowed by a conbination of blanket weed and shallow water. Walked in to Whittlesey for lunch at te George, a friendly pub. On our return at 13.45 we found the lock keeper waiiting for us.
