Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park, Utah, is one of the more recently created National Parks having been established in 1964. It is an immense area of rocky wilderness at the centre of the Colorado Plateau.
Right: Upheaval Dome is believed to be the crater of a collapsed salt dome although some experts assert that it is probably the result of a meteor strike.

Left: From Grand View Overlook we can see the point where the Green River Meets the Colorado River, almost 10 miles away, and much further to the edge of the park.
