Arches National Park is another of Utah's wonderful collection of five National Parks. It boasts the world's greatest density of natural arches, having more than 1,500. The difference between a natural bridge and a natural arch is that the former is initially formed by river action whereas the latter is formed purely by the erosion of wind and weather. Right: Courthouse Towers a massive rock formation greets the visitor shortly after entering the park. The beauty of the Yucca plant contrasting with the solid mass of the rock.

| Right: This bridge is near Wolfe Ranch which was built here in 1888 by John Wesley Wolfe, a disabled veteran of the Civil War. The little log cabin where he lived with his son Fred can still be seen. | ![]() |
