Dorset and Wiltshire

To many this is the Wessex of Thomas Hardy but you don't need to have read any of his novels to enjoy the wonderful rural scenery and ancient towns and villages of these counties.

Left: Salisbury Cathedral, Wiltshire, was built between 1220 and 1258 in the Early English Style and at 404 feet its spire is the tallest in Britain.

Right: The town of Sherebourne in Dorset dates back to Roman times and became a bishopric in 705.
