The Isle of Skye, Scotland

During our two-week stay on Skye we really fell in love with the place. We rented a bungalow at Portree and went out to various places on the Island each day.

Right: A house by the Torrin Road. This single-track road is the A881 which runs from Broadford through Torrin to Elgol.

Left: This view shows Skye's main town, Portree, and behind it the Storr with the finger of rock called 'the old man' just visible.

Right: Lock Coruisk in the Cuillin Hills. This is a very inaccessible part of Syke as the only land routes are by long pathways. We cheated and went by small boat from Elgol.

Right: Waterfall at Kilt Rock. On the east coast about 15 miles north of Portree.

Above: The Syke Museum on the B884 road on the west side of Skye.

Left: The walk up to the Quiraing rock face.

Above: A scramble up a steep hill at the Quiraing brings as to the Needle and the Table. This picture was taken from the Needle towards Staffin Bay
